Preparations for the 9th schauinsland-reisen market of lights are in full swing

From 29 November to 1 December, the 9th schauinsland-reisen market of lights will attract guests from the region and beyond with a wintry atmosphere, light installations and a world record attempt.

In total, over 120 exhibitors with their high-quality products and unique handmade items ensure a special shopping experience - both in the lovingly decorated indoor areas of the historic blower hall and outdoors in the illuminated setting of the former smelting works. In addition to some well-known vendors who have returned every year since the beginning, numerous new exhibitors have been attracted this year to enrich the schauinsland-reisen market of lights with their unique handicrafts.

Craftsmanship is the focus of the premium products: guests can look forward to personalised plotter work and decorative items such as greeting cards, guest books or bags made of cork and imitation leather. High-quality Scandinavian handicrafts made from sheep's wool and merino wool round off the range.

Construction work is also already underway in the casting hall. The tour operator schauinsland-reisen will be presenting a very special highlight here from 29 November to 1 December 2024: the highest indoor waterfall made of millions of shimmering, biodegradable water pearls. This spectacular installation, embedded in a holiday landscape, can be admired in the park's casting hall. On the opening evening, 29 November, the casting hall will open at 5:30 pm for the world record acceptance test, when the Record Institute for Germany will check live in front of an audience whether the waterfall officially sets a new world record.

In the foyer of the Gießhalle, schauinsland-reisen will once again be organising a charity raffle and photo campaign in aid of the zebrakids e.V. association, which provides socially disadvantaged and seriously ill children from the region with special experiences and time out.

The box office of the schauinsland-reisen Lichtermarkt will be open on all three days of the event for last-minute travellers. The online ticket shop is also still available at www.lichtermarkt.ruhr. Tickets can also be purchased in advance at the Duisburg Tourist Information Centre, Königstraße 86.

All information about the event can be found at www.lichtermarkt.ruhr and in the attached programme flyer.
