Guided tours

By the tap hole with the ironworker

Whether it’s through the Parklands or the area around Blast Furnace 5 and high up to the viewing platform – a guided tour through the Landscape Park will show you a piece of living industrial and cultural history.

Part of that living history is, for example, the fact that former ironworkers regularly come here to meet up with the Blast Furnace again. Standing in front of the Blast Furnace’s run-off chute they talk to visitors about the hot working conditions and give an insight into an ironworker's life. It’s especially on the torchlit guided tours at weekends that the works once more gives off a fiery glow just as it did thirty years ago. But please note – on the evening tours a torch is essential!
